We are seeking a highly qualified and entrepreneurial engineer with a passion for bringing innovative products to market.  Triton's diverse set of projects will give you experience across the engineering spectrum and allow you to shine in a fast-paced environment. Platforms include advanced sensors, communication systems, hearing protection/conservation, earplugs and other PPE, physiological status monitoring, sonar, sonobuoys, ASW, and subsea systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Program technical leadership / program management
  •  Ideation, technology research, and product development 
  •  Presentation of results to customers (written and oral)
  •  Self-starter with the ability to recognize and creatively solve complex problems
  •  Product design and prototyping of cutting edge systems including CAD (Solidworks)
  •  Performing experiments in an independent & inventive manner

 

Desired qualifications would include some of the following:

  • Solid understanding of acoustic fundamentals
  • Previous work developing communication or other audio / acoustic systems.
  • Adaptability in a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Broad interest in science and technology with an interest in expanding into new fields
  • Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review
  • High degree of comfort working on early phase research projects
  • Experience in proposal-writing and contract R&D (e.g. SBIR) is a plus
  • Solid understanding of numerical modeling and signal processing, design of experiments, and fabrication methods (MATLAB, COMSOL, LabVIEW, etc.)
  • Transducer design and acoustic metamaterials experience a plus
  • Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review

 

Education/Experience:

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Acoustic Engineering or related engineering field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 1-5 years experience working in design and prototype fabrication and testing is desired
