Project Electrical Engineer

Our Advanced Technologies group is seeking a hands-on Lead Electrical Engineer to be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on projects that span a wide range of research area. The work will vary and encompass commercial, military or medical technology projects. Innovation and technical problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of researchers. Experience developing both hardware and software for embedded systems is highly desired. 


  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent; MS a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in hardware or software development.
  • Hands on experience prototyping hardware devices.
  • Familiarity with schematic / PCB CAD tools.


  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers (Nucleo, Arduino, Raspberry PI, PIC)
  • Interest or experience in robotics, UAVs, or ROVs.
  • Interest or experience designing components for biomedical applications.
  • Experience developing application software for Windows, Android, Linux and LabVIEW environments.
  • Experience with programming languages (C, C++, Python, Perl, Tcl)
  • Familiarity with common communications protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, RS-232)
  • High degree of comfort working on early phase research projects.
  • Signal processing experience for commercial, medical or military applications.
  • Ability to soldering
